Scope of Practice Ethics
In this discussion-based class, Massage Therapists will explore the Scope of Practice as defined by the PA State Board of Massage Therapy and how to navigate Client interactions while practicing within the Scope. Specifics regarding acceptable modalities and tools, guidelines for ethical conversation with Clients, the subject of contraindications, as well as circumstances for Therapists to receive further education/training will all be covered; class sizes are intimate to allow for comfortable, open participation and flexibility regarding time spent on the various topics to best serve the group.

Ethics Intake and Post Session
Conversations
In this class, Massage Therapists will explore the components of an ethical client intake and
post-treatment conversation. Drawing from common Scope of Practice, Code of Ethics, and
Standards of Practice, this class will bring deeper understanding to the nuance involved in,
as well as possible legal requirements of, ethical intake practices. In-depth discussion
about the use of client intake forms and guidelines for verbal intake and post-session
conversations will give participants practical savvy to confidently approach the “business”
side of work and grow one’s practice. Subjects of informed consent, contraindications and
special population groups will also be addressed as they relate to the intake process. Class
sizes are intimate to allow for comfortable, open participation and flexibility regarding time
spent on the various topics to best serve the group.

I have been working with clients who experience headaches and migraines for over 20 years. I have noted sometimes their source is stress, hormones, diet, relationship struggles, and many other causes beyond my scope of practice. Though, I have found, there a few subtle techniques that can bring client’s relief and help them discover how they can help their own bodies.
